Getting to know Connie:

  • My favorite place to travel is Hawaii. Besides being a lovely paradise, Maui is where my husband and I spent our honeymoon and created many fond memories. We experienced the curvy, hilly road to Hana (and back), a traditional luau in Old Lahaina, and a walk on volcanic rock on Haleakala. We've since also visited the Oahu and Kauai islands, each with its own beauty and character. The environment on the islands is so different from home that I can completely relax and recharge during my visit.
  • My favorite author is Francine Rivers. Her books are easy, enjoyable reads and I appreciate the research she puts into the background of each novel. My favorite series of hers is the Mark of the Lion set in the Roman era of gladiators. It gave me an appreciation for the extreme difficulties people lived under during those times.
  • Most people would be surprised to know that I taught country line and couples dances during the country-music dance craze in the 90s. I, along with my future husband, taught in larger venues with as many as 300 students. Dancing three to four nights a week became our workout routine and was a blast at the same time!
  • What is the top thing you would like to learn from the Chicagoland association community in 2012? How other associations are creating excitement in their exhibit halls to increase booth sales and attendee traffic.

Support Association Forum's PAC & Be Recognized
Even if your association is focused on national issues, you’re impacted by the decisions of Illinois and Chicago governments. Association Forum advocates on your behalf and we’ve had many successes — such as making the Illinois Not-For-Profit Act the best in the nation — but imagine how much more we can do with your support. Beginning in April, we’re launching a recognition program that publicly thanks and recognizes individuals and organizations contributing to our PAC.
