NOMINATIONS
Organizations can only succeed with effective leadership. Members of
the Association Forum of Chicagoland have responded to the call for leadership
since the organization was founded in 1916. Their service has enabled the Forum
to successfully address the always changing needs of its members.
The Nominating Committee seeks candidates for nominations for officers and
directors to serve on the 2007-08 Board of Directors and Foundation Board of
Trustees. Please see Bylaws Article VI and VII for specifics on these important
positions, terms of office, and the nomination process. The bylaws are
published at www.associationforum.org. (linked to
the "Our Mission" page under the "About the Forum" tab.)
The following positions are open for nomination:
• Chair-Elect: One-year term, with automatic succession to Chairman
of the Board in 2009-2010; • Secretary-Treasurer: One-year
term. • Regular Member Directors: Two, three-year terms for
2008-2011. • Supplier Partner Member Director (Business
Services Sector):
One, two-year term for
2008-2010.
Criteria Used for Nominations Among the
criteria that will be considered are the following:
• leadership and management experience; • written responses to
questions posed in this application, • other considerations that
indicate that a candidate is uniquely qualified to serve on the Board of
Directors.
How to Nominate a Candidate(s) If you know of an individual who
would meet the criteria above and who might be willing to serve the Forum,
please forward the attached form and encourage that person to complete the form
and return it to the Forum. Or, send the name(s) of your potential candidate (s)
to Forum President/CEO Gary LaBranche, CAE, via e-mail (labranche@Associationforum.org).
Self-nominations are welcomed. If you are interested in serving on the Board,
please complete and return the attached nomination form.
All applications must be received in the Forum office no later than 5:00
p.m., December 21, 2007. Nominating Process
The committee will recommend one candidate per position to the
membership by January 31, 2008. While personal interviews are not
expected, the Nominating Committee may request interviews at its discretion.
Additional candidates may be nominated by petition (see bylaws for
details.) If no additional candidates are nominated, the committee's
recommendations shall be elected. If additional candidates are nominated,
a ballot shall be issued for contested positions. The elected candidates
will take office on April 1, 2008.
