Certified Association Executive (CAE) Info
Is It Your Year to Become a CAE?
Spring CAE Sessions begin March 4th,
register now.
CAE .
Those three letters after your name
can represent professional recognition and career advancement. CAE means Certified Association Executive,
the professional designation for the association management profession ... and the Forum can
help you achieve this individual certification. The Association Forum was the first local society
to provide study groups for CAE candidates back in the mid-'70s.
If you have or plan to submit your CAE Application Form
to ASAE by Friday, Febuary 8, 2008
the Forum strongly encourages you to enroll in the society's study group.
The sooner you get the application into ASAE, the sooner you will know whether
you are eligible to sit for the exam, and to participate in the study group.
Here are the details:
WHO: The study group
is intended for association professionals who have met the basic CAE
certification requirements, who file their application
by February 8, 2008 (or March 7, 2008- Subject to an additional $100 application extension
fee) and who intend to take the May 2, 2008 examination
.
WHAT: The study
group is a small, interactive
group of association professionals that meets for a structured case study series based on the ten
domain areas of identified competencies, open discussion and a review of
potential exam questions and materials.
WHEN: The
group(s) will meet weekly beginning March 4th through April 15th.
The groups will meet from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
WHERE: The downtown
group will meet
at Forum headquarters, 10 S.Riverside Plaza, Suite 800, (or another site
in the Loop or North Michigan Avenue area if warranted). In order to host a
suburban study group 8 registrants are required.
CONTENT : Weekly meetings will be
facilitated by existing CAEs and will focus on one of the ten identified
domains of association management expertise. With this format, every exam
subject will be covered thoroughly. It is strongly advised that all students
read the recommended reading materials BEFORE the scheduled case study. The
schedule will be e-mailed to all enrollees.
