Association Workforce Diversity Scholarships

Association Forum of Chicagoland is committed to diversifying its membership base as well as building a strong program for upward mobility by minority candidates within this career field. There are up to six scholarships available to the next Workforce Diversity Scholarship Class, FY08-09. The program tenure is from April 1, 2008 - March 31, 2009.

About the Scholarship

The components of the Diversity Scholarship include:

  • One year membership in the Association Forum
  • Complimentary registration to the Forum's Annual Meeting
  • Complimentary registration to all Forum educational programs & events
  • First year's registration fee for the candidate to enroll in the Institute of Association Management offered by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce 
  • Each Scholar will be linked with an individual mentor; who will work closely with the scholar during the year to insure that their expectations are being satisfied.

Eligibility and Requirements

This Scholarship program is open to candidates of a minority ethnic/racial group (i.e. American Indian/Native Alaskan; Asian/Pacific Islander; Black, African-American, West Indian; Hispanic), sexual orientation/gender identity or persons with disabilities and have a minimum of three years of experience in the association/nonprofit field. Candidates can nominate themselves or they can be nominated by other individuals. If you are not eligible for this scholarship, please forward this information or nominate a colleague who would benefit from this program.

How to Apply

  1. Complete the scholarship application form, which includes a 500-word statement of interest essay. 
  2. Mail or fax the scholarship application form to the Association Forum Foundation, 10 S.Riverside Plaza, Ste. 800, Chicago, IL 60606, or fax to 312-924-7143 by the deadline February 25, 2008.
  3. Recipient will be notified by Forum.
