Originally from the Washington, D.C., area, Michelle joined Association Forum on September 15, 2014. She earned her Bachelor of Science at Strayer University and MBA and MS at University of Maryland and previously has held positions with the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE). Michelle has more than 20 years of experience with the association market and is a member of ASAE and WSAE. When she isn’t busy advancing the association management profession, Michelle likes to run and experience new restaurants.

ASTRA is the nation’s only association dedicated to the education and expansion of the specialty toy industry. Kim has been a leader in the association industry for more than 20 years with experience in technology. Prior to her role with ASTRA, she served as CIO for the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and Association Forum where she served in many leadership roles including serving as chair of the Diversity Workforce Committee. In 2002, she was awarded the Diversity Executive Leadership Scholarship and in 2003, she earned distinction as a Certified Association Executive. She serves as adjunct faculty for Governors State University in healthcare informatics and serves on the advisory board for Prairie State Junior College. She also lectures, blogs and writes articles on association management and technology. Ms. Mosley holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Governors State University and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago, IL.

She is also an engaging trainer and executive coach, trained and certified by the very reputable Coaches Training Institute. The blend of her career in association management coupled with her current coaching and training allows Maureen to bring current perspectives of today’s organizational challenges to her workshops. Prior to becoming an executive coach, Maureen was a senior level executive in leadership roles within major associations. She is a successful executive experienced in general management, product development, marketing and sales with P&L accountability. She successfully grew a business from $1.6 million in sales to over $6 million. She is an experienced board member having served on two boards. Her warm engaging personality is well received by her current coaching clients who are achieving excellent results. Maureen is on the part-time faculty of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and is on the faculty of the American Management Association.

Deirdre is responsible for delivering human capital strategies that directly enable the achievement of US Cellular’s strategic objectives. Deirdre began her career in human resources in 1989 with Marathon Oil Company. She has also held increasingly senior leadership positions in human resources with Kraft Foods, ARAMARK Corporation and The Bank of Montreal Financial Group. Prior to joining U.S. Cellular in April 2014, Deirdre was Managing Director and Chief Human Resources Officer for the Bank of Montreal Financial Group—Capital Markets Division. Deirdre earned a bachelor's degree in human resources from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich., and a master's degree in business administration from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. She is a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association, serves as a board member with the Chicago Public Library Foundation and the American Red Cross of Chicago and Northern Illinois. She is also actively involved in a number of local and national not-for profit organizations.

Navigating Sexual & Other Harassment: The Employee and Employer Perspectives in the World of #METOO

Jon Vegosen

WEF-Jon-Vegosen-.jpgJon Vegosen is a founding member of Chicago corporate and litigation law firm, Funkhouser Vegosen Liebman and Dunn Ltd. (FVLD), where he was co-managing partner for eight years. Although Jon provides legal counsel on a wide variety of matters, he has extensive experience working with companies and boards of directors on issues directly related to preventing and investigating sexual and other harassment in the workplace. The Commission on Women in the Legal Profession has hailed the anti-harassment policy that Jon developed at FVLD as a model for the American Bar Association. Approved as an EEOC anti-harassment trainer, Jon has conducted trainings for numerous clients, boards, and professional groups, as well as for employers that have been the subject of EEOC investigations and settlements. Jon speaks widely and has authored several articles about employment issues, including harassment. He has received the highest of peer review ratings, has been a “Leading Lawyer” in Employment Law by Leading Lawyers Network for several years, and has been designated a Super Lawyer in Illinois in employment law. Jon has extensive board experience, including serving as Chairman of the Board, President, & CEO of the United States Tennis Association in 2011 and 2012. He is the current Chairman of the Board of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Jon graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University and received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, graduating Cum Laude.

In this presentation, Jon Vegosen examines sexual and other harassment from both the employee and employer perspectives. Attendees will engage in an open dialogue on this very important topic that is being addressed nationally.
