Karen E. Joynt Maddox, MD, MPH

Assistant Professor, Washington University School of Medicine and School of Social Work

Karen E. Joynt Maddox, MD, MPH is a cardiologist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and an Assistant Professor at Washington University School of Medicine, and co-director of the Center for Health Economics and Policy at Washington University. She is the Associate Program Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Wash U cardiology fellowship program. Dr. Joynt Maddox is a health services and health policy researcher with expertise in quality measurement, value-based and alternative payment models, and health equity. She is an Associate Editor at JAMA, and serves on a number of national committees related to quality and policy.
