I serve as the Executive Director of the Strategic Management Society, a professional association dedicated to the strategic management field. SMS consists of over 3,000 members - academics, business practitioners, and consultants - representing more than 80 different countries. Through international conferences, scholarly journals, research funding, and its awards and honors program, SMS develops and disseminates insights on the strategic management process and fosters contacts and interchange around the world.
Prior to joining SMS, I have worked in a variety of capacities in higher education at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. As the Managing Director of Knowledge and Impact at the Kellogg School of Management, I led teams responsible for sharing thought leadership of Kellogg faculty with external audiences and bringing practitioner insights to the School. Previous work in higher education has included:
• Launching and managing operations for key strategic initiatives both domestically and internationally, including launching the University of Chicago Centers in Beijing and New Delhi;
• Designing, communicating, and facilitating implementation of university strategic plans; and
• Working collaboratively with academic and administrative governance to enable organizational change.
Outside of higher education, my experience includes senior management roles in public, private and non-profit organizations focusing on strategic and financial planning.
