Bio

​Erik Skogsbakken is a Senior Vice President in the Commercial Banking group at Huntington Bank. Erik has 20 years of experience in banking, having worked with not-for-profit associations as well as privately-owned companies located in Chicagoland and beyond.  Erik has spent his career focused on providing tailored financial solutions aimed at businesses with revenues up to $500 million to help them increase revenue and profitability while reducing risk.  Areas of expertise include solutions to support working capital, purchase equipment and real estate, and treasury management and liquidity solutions / investments.

Erik is known for his attention to detail and customer service, which has enabled him to build strong relationships.  His experience extends to risk mitigation products such as interest rate hedging and other areas of corporate finance. Erik was named one of FirstMerit’s Bankers of the Year in 2013 and 2015, and an OCR award winner for Huntington Bank in 2018 and 2019.

Erik graduated with High Honors from the University of Illinois, Champaign, IL, with a B.A. in Finance from the College of Business.  Outside activities include involvement with charitable organizations such as the Chicago and Northern Illinois Food Banks, Junior Achievement, and other organizations focused on youth education. Erik and his wife Kelly live in Park Ridge with their two children.  He enjoys playing golf, basketball, and softball, as well as coaching various sports for his two children.
