Program Description Join the Membership Professionals SIG for an open-group discussion focusing on the challenges membership professionals are facing from their nonprofit/association competition and the for-profit field, as well as and other industry and/or environmental factors impacting membership acquisition and retention.
 
About the Speakers:
 
Jacqualine Price Osafo, CAE, is the director of membership and development at the Water Quality Association (WQA). Jacqualine oversees and implements membership budgets of nearly $3 million for 2,700 member trade associations. She is responsible for managing all aspects of membership recruitment and retention along with development initiatives. In a previous position, Jacqualine managed and coordinated exhibits, membership initiatives, and educational programs in more than fifteen 15 countries, including: Asia, Europe, and South America.
 
Charmaine Osborne, CAE, is the senior associate, member Service at the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association (AHA). Charmaine is in charge of managing all membership development initiatives for a 12,000-member national healthcare organization and overseeing an annual budget of nearly $2.5 million. She is responsible for creating and implementing member recruitment, retention and engagement plans and strategies. In addition, she directs all aspects of member recognition, which includinges awards, scholarships, and professional designation programs. Charmaine’s other areas of experience includes chapter/component relations, volunteer/leadership management, marketing and product development.
